12-11-2010
In an early hour of today, al-Galaa's prosecution office released Mohamed Suka and Abdullah Saadawy, activists in the 6 April movement and the campaign of Gameela Ismail, who is running for Parliament in the Qasr El-Nil constituency.
The prosecution had charged the activists with contempt of parties, and the distribution of leaflets that disturb public security, due to a statement in the campaign's leaflet which says "With your votes we stand together against corruption, tyranny, high cost of living and the failure of the NDP."
Dozens of 6 April members demonstrated in front of al-Galaa's prosecution office protesting the detention of their colleagues and considering the arrests an indication of the absence of integrity in the upcoming elections.
From her side, Gameela Ismail confirmed to Youm 7 that she will document the campaigning of NDP candidates, which has started in different constituencies without any objection from State Security.
She explained that she isn't running in the election only to enter the Parliament but also to expose the security abuses.
